KANUNGU- Police in Kanungu district are investigating circumstances surrounding the murder of a 30-year-old-Man identified as Ben Ayesiga died a resident of Karama cell, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi town council in Kanungu district.
According to Byangire Luke (62), a resident of Karama cell, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi town council in Kanungu district, the father of the deceased, who reported the case, his son was found dead in the bush on 14/03/23 at around 3:00PM.
Byangire says the deceased had disappeared on Sunday 12/03/2023, and the body was found with some signs of assault or scuffle reflected on his injured face.
Unfortunately, Byangire says the case of disappearance hadn’t been reported to police.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said that a team of police officers from Kihihi police station visited the scene and the body was taken to Kihihi HC IV for postmortem.
Maate notes that inquiries are at hand to establish the cause of the death, motive and probably by who.
A statement of suspected murder has been recorded at Kihihi Police station under reference number CRB 067/2023.
