KABALE: Police in Kabale District have arrested four suspects in connection with the homicide of a 38-year-old man in Maziba Sub County.
The detained suspects, identified as Akamanya Onesmus (32), Arinaitwe Godwin (37), Kiconco Pamera (33), residents of Rwabaremera village, Maziba Sub County, and Nsimire Mercy (26), a resident of Kahondo village, Maziba Sub County, are accused of the murder of Wapida Willy, a casual laborer from Rwabaremera village.
Wapida Willy, known for his work as a gardener and carpenter under Professor Tweheyo Minason, was discovered dead near Kabwojo’s residence at approximately 9:00 AM yesterday. Police reports indicate that the victim was last seen on Saturday around 9:00 PM at Kiconco Pamera’s tea restaurant in the company of the suspects. Furthermore, investigations suggest that Willy had been seen on multiple occasions attempting to court Nsimire Mercy.
Elly Maate, the spokesperson for Kigezi region police, disclosed that a case file has been initiated to delve into the alleged crime. The crime scene has been meticulously examined, pertinent statements have been obtained, and the body of the deceased has been transferred to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
