RUKUNGIRI – Police in Rukungiri District are currently pursuing suspects involved in the murder of a 29-year-old man in Rwerere town council.
The deceased, identified as Medard Turyasingura, resided in Bigaga cell, Rwerere town council in Rukungiri district. The alleged murder took place during the night of 29/01/2024.
The lifeless body of Medard Turyasingura was discovered yesterday around 08:00 AM at Ruhiira cell, Kazindiro parish, Bugangari Sub County. Bruce Twinamatsiko made the grim discovery alongside the footpath.
Elly Maate, the police spokesperson for the Kigezi region, revealed that a murder case has been officially registered at Bugangari police station. The crime scene was meticulously examined and documented by the Division Scene of Crime Officer (D/soco), Divisional Criminal Investigator (D/CI), and a team of detectives specializing in homicide.
Maate further informed that the deceased’s body has been transported to Rwakabengo HC III mortuary for a thorough postmortem examination.
