Rwandan National Murdered in Kabale

KABALE – Police in Kabale District are actively conducting an investigation into the death of Ibrahim Tuyishimire, a 35-year-old Rwandan national.

His lifeless body was discovered on August 12, 2023, at the Katuna border in Katuna Town Council, Kabale District.

Tuyishimire, a resident of Katuna border, Karuna Town Council, Ndorwa West County in Kabale District, was found deceased around 3:50 PM.

The head of Katuna Police post, OC Turyakira Amos, was alerted by the unidentified body through a phone call.

The deceased was located within a wooden structure within the Katuna border cell.Responding swiftly, a team of police officers from Katuna arrived at the scene.

An identification document was found in the deceased’s pocket, confirming his identity as Tuyishimire Ibrahim, a Rwandese national.

The scene was documented, and the body was subsequently transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital’s mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Elly Maate, Spokesperson for Kigezi Region Police, stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of Tuyishimire’s death.

The case has been officially registered as a murder at Kabale Central Police Station under reference number CRB 622/2023.

Maate added that efforts are actively being made by the police to follow leads and uncover the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
