KABALE – The Minister of State for Finance Planning and Economic Development who doubles as Member of Parliament for Rubanda East, Honorable Henry Ariganyira Musasizi, has disclosed that the government has already disbursed over Shs. 50 million to each parish under the Parish Development Model (PDM), totaling Shs. 150 million so far.
During his address at the burial of Mzee Nathan Turyagyenda, a 73-year-old resident of Rugarama village in Nyinamuronzi ward, Katuna Town council, Ndorwa West County of Kabale district yesterday, Minister Musasizi emphasized the government’s commitment to allocate a minimum of Shs. 400 million to each parish, distributing Shs. 100 million monthly.
The funeral service took place at St. Peter’s Karujanga Church of Uganda under Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Kigezi. Minister Musasizi urged mourners to embrace the Parish Development Model, emphasizing its role in elevating households from subsistence living to active participation in the money economy, thus collectively combating poverty.
“We are dedicated to the Parish Development Model, aiming to transform every household from subsistence living to active participation in the money economy. Together, we can effectively combat poverty.” Minister Musasizi said.
