KIGEZI – The heavy downpour has significantly disrupted the distribution of UNEB exams to examination centers in the Kigezi sub-region.
According to UNEB, the scheduled start time for exams was 9:00 AM. Unfortunately, the intense rain, which commenced around 8:00 AM, hampered the smooth delivery of exams to several centers in the region.
Contrary to the UNEB timetable, candidates across the country, particularly in Kigezi sub-region, experienced delays in commencing their Uganda Certificate of Education Exams. The initial paper scheduled was geography paper one. However, due to the adverse weather conditions, the exams started later than planned.
In Rukiga District, specifically at Kihanga Secondary School, the exams eventually arrived at the center at 9:40 AM. Candidates initiated their writing session at 10:00 AM, reflecting the impact of the rain-induced distribution delays.
Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi region police, provided reassurance that the exams reached the region securely under tight security measures. Maate further assured the public of heightened security to guarantee the smooth progress of the examination process in the region.
