Kabale University Senior Cybersecurity Administrator is Dead

KABALE: A Senior Systems Administrator in charge of Cyber Security at Kabale University in South Western Uganda, Kabale District, Simon Ononge, has tragically passed away.

The University confirmed this somber news via its official X-twitter handle, expressing profound sadness at the loss.

“Death has robbed us of our Senior Systems Administrator. Farewell, Simon. May you rest in Christ until we meet again.” Kabale University confirmed via X-twitter handle.

According to reports gathered by our correspondent, Ononge had been battling illness for some time. He died at Doctor’s Plaza Clinic in Soroti District today afternoon.

Hailing from Bukedea District, the exact cause of his passing remains unknown as of press time.

Described as a dedicated team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, Ononge possessed a strong moral compass and excelled in working with minimal supervision.

His academic qualifications included a Master of Science in Information Technology (MScIT) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Amity, along with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BScCS) from Mak.

Ononge was also highly certified in various cybersecurity disciplines, holding credentials such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Linux+, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and Huawei Certified ICT Associate Security (HCIA Security).
