RUKIGA-The Rukiga district Woman MP Hon Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi has today rewarded 253 Primary Seven candidates that posted better performance in 2022 PLE Exams with 253 mattresses worth 12,650,000 million Shillings.
While handing over Mattresses to the beneficiaries in Rukiga district in Muhanga town council, Hon Kamusiime expressed her concern on how some pupils who would be capable of scoring a first grade have been left out from accessing school fees due to school fees strains.
She revealed plans of extending support to children whose parents are unable to raise the school fees starting Next year. Hon Kamusiime started this project of rewarding PLE stars in 2017 and since then PLE stars have gained in her project to date.
She attributed high performance of pupils in PLE to her project of rewarding the PLE stars with mattresses which she says has motivated and brought a spirit of working hard among the candidates.
However, parents who included Muhendo Adah, Ahimbisibwe charity and Byamukama Alex all residents of Muhanga town council requested the Hon Kamusiime to robe for a project in the government which would support parents’ school fees.
The Rukiga district speaker who doubles as the Director Muhanga Golden Nursery and Primary school Oscar Akampurira commended the legislature upon her tremendous support to the Education sector in Rukiga District.
