Cutting to Sam Byibesho’s briefing, he highlighted Kisoro Municipal Vocational Training Institute as the premier choice for candidates seeking to complete their studies in a shorter time frame. Emphasizing the competitiveness of the job market, he underscored the importance of joining KIMUVOTI after completing senior four and primary seven education due to the institute’s offering of highly marketable courses.

Additionally, Byibesho revealed a strategic alliance between the institute and Makerere University to provide Diploma courses in Education, catering especially to teachers upgrading from nursery education and those upgrading from Grade III certificates.

Referring to the 2021 Ministry of Sports and Education directive, which phased out 23 PTC colleges, Byibesho explained that this move aimed to bring an end to Grade III certificates and Early Childhood Education Certificates for nursery teachers. Holders of the phased-out certificates are required to upgrade to either Diploma or Bachelor certificates within 10 years.
