Alcohol Claim One in Rukungiri

RUKUNGIRI- The territorial police in Rukungiri district are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 22 years old-Man.

 

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police Spokesperson has named the deceased as Davis Turyatunga a student in “A ” level vocation and resident of Binyena village Kisizi parish Nyarushanje sub county, who was discovered dead from Ensinikweri Moses’s bar in the lodge room.

 

It’s alleged that on 12/02/2023, at about 2300hrs, at Binyena village Twinamatsiko Sustino 20 years a student in O level vacation, moved with the deceased from their deceased ‘s home to unknown place according to the deceased’s mother one Rosemary Kyomuhendo.

 

“That they later appeared at the mentioned bar at Kisizi upper trading center where they allegedly asked to be served drinks in a private room lodge section” Maate Said.

 

Maate added” That at around 0400hrs Twinamatsiko Sustino allegedly informed the bar attendants that his colleague now the deceased was very drunk and unable to move by himself, hence left him deep asleep.

 

Maate said that Surprisingly, the deceased was discovered dead by bar attendants in the morning of 13/02/2023 at about 1000hrs when they checked on him after he failed to open.

 

He asserts that police were accordingly notified, scene was visited by district CID boss and team, processed, 04 empty plastic bottles of Torero drink and 02 empty ones of Sting energy drink were recovered from the room where the body was found.

 

He notes that the deceased body was conveyed to Rwakabengo health center III mortuary for postmortem and the two bar attendants plus Twinamatsiko were arrested to help police in investigations.
