Man kills Biological son over Food in Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri district have arrested a 30 years old Man who allegedly assaulted to death his eight years old child identified as Isaac Tukamushaba over food issues.

The suspect is Denis Asiimwe a resident of Nyakitabata village, Kakindo parish, Bugangari Sub County in Rukungiri district.

 

It’s alleged that the suspect separated with the wife 7 years ago and the wife left behind the victim when he was 9 months old.

 

The suspect later chased his biological father from the house and has been staying with the son (now deceased), a brother one Paul Tumuhimbise and a sister one Kobusingye Jane.

 

It’s further alleged that on the 22/12/ 2022 at around 8:30 Pm, he returned home drunk and upon entering the bedroom where he was sleeping with the deceased immediately asked for the food that he had left in the morning.

When the deceased answered that he had eaten the food, out of anger was heard assaulting him and later when the brother and sister intervened he threatened to kill them and threw the deceased out through the front room’s window.

 

He followed and carried the deceased who was heard crying in motion.

 

According to Asp Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, today morning at around 06:00 Am at the same village Evas Tusiime, a closest neighbor to the suspect, found the victim’s body in her compound.

 

She informed the suspect who immediately picked the body back to his bedroom.

 

Maate says the incident reached the area chairperson one Bafaki Barnabus who reported it to Bugangari Police station and a case of Murder was preferred.

He adds, the scene of crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O and team, body was picked to Bugangari health center IV for Postmortem and the suspect was arrested.
