RUKIGA: 60-year-old-Man Murdered, Head & Arm goes missing

RUKIGA- Police in Rukiga district are investigating circumstances under which a 60-year-old-man has been murdered living the head and right arm parts missing.

The deceased has been identified as Michael Kyarugahi, a resident of Rushebeya cell, Rwamucucu sub county Rukiga district.

According to the deceased’s wife one Katushabe Gorret, on 2/3/ 2023 at around 02:00 PM, the deceased left home to Rushebeya trading centre for his social hours and never returned home.

On Friday this week, Katushabe went and reported the same to the area local council chairperson Rushebeya cell one Aggrey Bakahya, who mobilized the community members and they conducted search but in vain.

Asp Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson says that today morning police resumed the search and found the deceased’s body floating in a swamp, just a few metres from Rushebeya trading center.

Maate adds that scene was visited and processed, body retrieved without the head and right arm which are still missing.

He said that the body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for post-mortem as inquiries continue to establish the perpetrators and for which motive the body parts were cut.
