BISHOP AKANJUNA ASKS CHRISTIANS TO RECONCILE WITH ONE ANOTHER & TURN BACK TO GOD

KABALE-The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, the Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna has urged Christians across the diocese to take use of the gospel preached by different preachers during the Brethren conference to reconcile with one another and turn back to God.

Bishop Akanjuna said this today while closing a three days Annual brethren conference that had been held at convention site, Rugarama hill, Northern Division of Kabale Municipality under the theme; “We Will in all things grow up into Christ, who is Head” Delivered from Ephesians 4:15 (Tukurire Omuri Yesu, Niiwe mutwe).

The three days conference which closed today, started on Thursday with holy communion presided over by Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, the bishop of the diocese of Kigezi, has attracted children, youth, Men, Women, older persons, Emeritus Bishops of Diocese of Kigezi, active and retired priest hoods across the diocese Reverends and political leaders.

The conference attracted over 5000 Christians across and outside the diocese of Kigezi. The Diocese last held the diocesan Annual Brethren Conference in January 2020 before COVID-19 hit the country and disrupted many programs.

Rev Oscar Mwesigwa, the chief organizer of the conference says that this year’s Annual Brethren Conferee has been of its kind compared to previous conferences.  According to Rev Mwesigwa, they had a target of 2000 Christians but because Christians had taken a long time without going to such conferences due to COVID-19 and their desire to praise, worship and listen to the word of God, the turn up has exploded to a range of 6000 to 7000.

Bishop Akanjuna says that he is optimistic the gospel has been preached and Christians have picked a leaf and learnt. Bishop Akanjuna closed the conference and commissioned Christians to go outside there in their families, businesses, churches and preach the word of God.

While preaching during the Runyannkore-Rukiga service, the Bishop Emeritus of Butare Anglican Diocese in Rwanda, Rt Rev Nathan Gasatura implored Christians to depict from acts of hurting fellow Christians, not knowing that they are hurting themselves. He reminded them to know that they are a chosen generation praying to God to protect them from any act of backbiting.

Rev Oscar Mwesigwa says that he is optimistic that Christians have received well packaged sermons which he believes will transform their lives spiritually.
