Christian Moral Decay on Rise, Lay Reader Calls For Spiritual Renewal in Rubanda

RUBANDA – Lay reader, Ronald Arineitwe of Bubaare Archdeaconry in the diocese of Kigezi has expressed concern about Christians straying from God’s commandments, citing a rise in acts like alcoholism, adultery, and witchcraft.

While preaching and presiding over the fundraising event for Bushuura Church of Uganda in Hamumabo town council, Rubanda district yesterday, Arineitwe emphasized the need for a return to God to restore moral values and create a peaceful society.

During the event, Ann Asiimwe, a businesswoman from Kakore in Hamurwa sub-county, Rubanda district, urged parents to instill church values in their children for the development of Godly morals.

She called for public vigilance, encouraging people to report any suspicious activity or individuals to authorities to prevent potential attacks, specifically mentioning the threat of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels.
