KISORO: Local leaders and health officers have applauded Children’s Hope Organization for donating beddings to various health centers in Kisoro District.
The donated items, including blankets, bed sheets, and pillows, were distributed to Gasovu Health Center in Nyabwishenya, Bukimbiri Health Center III in Nyundo, Rutaka Health Center III, and Zindiro Health Center III in Kisoro Municipality.
Sasiraba Deus, the in-charge of Gasovu Health Center III, thanked Children’s Hope Organization, led by Atuhaire Adrienne, for the donation. He mentioned that Gasovu Health Center III received 10 blankets, 10 bed sheets, and 10 pillows.
Sasirabo highlighted that the facility had been operating without bed sheets, causing discomfort among health workers who saw patients sleeping only on mattresses covered with waterproof material. He added that the donated beddings have since encouraged more pregnant women to seek maternity healthcare services.

Murindahabi Peter and Milka Rurina, the in-charges of Zindiro and Bukimbiri Health Center III respectively, also expressed their gratitude to Children’s Hope Organization. They noted that the donated beddings would greatly benefit people, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. They advised residents to avoid self-medication and always seek health services from professional health workers.

Mutambuzi Fred Kanyaruju, the LC3 chairperson of Nyundo Sub-county, thanked the director of Children’s Hope Organization for the support. He mentioned that the blankets and bed sheets would help admitted patients stay warm. Mutambuzi also pointed out that Bukimbiri Health Center III has worn-out mattresses and lacks beds, appealing to the district health officer to provide beds and mattresses for the health center.
