KASESE: Biira Mackline, an 11-year-old Primary Four pupil at Eden Preparatory School in Kasese District, is determined to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor.
Every night, Biira is found studying under a streetlight outside her home in Habitant Cell, Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
Biira chooses the streetlight over the one in her house, claiming it is better for her eyesight.
Despite the difficulties, she remains focused on her goal of making a difference in her community as a future doctor.
Her father, Mbahimba Moses, a farmer, works hard to meet the family’s needs. However, financial challenges have made it difficult at times.
“I want her to be a good person and make a positive impact in our community,” Mbahimba says. “I call upon well-wishers to support her education so that she can achieve her dreams.”
