KANUNGU: One person has been confirmed dead and another injured following a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday in Nyabushoro Cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub-county, Kanungu District.
The accident involved two motorcycles both Bajaj Boxer models, red in color with registration numbers UFC 372Z and UEM 141V. The rider of the second motorcycle remains unidentified.
The deceased has been identified as Wilson Burobe, 30, a resident of Mukibarama Cell, Nyakashure Parish in Nyamirama Sub-county. He was riding motorcycle registration number UFC 372Z.
The injured passenger has been identified as Amos Twakyire, 45, a resident of Kanyabizo Cell, Ntungwa Parish, also in Nyamirama Sub-county.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, the scene was visited by PC Matanda. Twakyire was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Maate added that Burobe’s body was taken to Kambuga Hospital mortuary, while both motorcycles were impounded and taken to Nyamirama Police Station for further investigation.
