The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called on Christians across the Diocese to renew their faith and hope in God by celebrating Easter in a meaningful way through reflection on the suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Delivering his homily at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral in Kabale Municipality on Sunday, Bishop Rubaramira emphasized that true redemption and salvation lie in embracing the values exemplified by Jesus’ sacrifice. These include forgiveness, humility, obedience, perseverance, hope, and love for others.
He highlighted Jesus’ act of forgiving his persecutors even while on the cross as a powerful lesson in forgiveness and humility that Christians should emulate.
“Jesus’ unwavering obedience to God’s will, even in the face of immense suffering, reminds us of the importance of perseverance and trusting in God’s plan regardless of the challenges we face in life,” Bishop Rubaramira said.
Bishop Rubaramira further explained that the resurrection of Christ is a symbol of hope, offering the promise of eternal life and new beginnings for all who follow Him.
He urged Christians to move beyond mere ritual and tradition during the Easter season and instead seek a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teachings. By doing so, he said, believers can strengthen their faith and build more meaningful relationships with others.
