Police in Rukungiri District have arrested two teenagers in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Twinamatsiko Kam, a student and resident of Nyarurambi Cell, Kasheshe Parish, Buyanja Sub-county.
The incident occurred on the evening of 7 November 2025 at around 8:00 pm, when Twinamatsiko and another student, Edwin Niwenyesiga, were confronted by two boys, Muhumuza George, 14, and Akanyijuka Eden, 16.
Akanyijuka allegedly attacked Twinamatsiko with a panga, accusing him of calling him a pig thief.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack. Niwenyesiga rushed to inform the victim’s relatives, who transported Twinamatsiko to Nyakibale Hospital.
He was later referred to Mbarara Referral Hospital but tragically died en route.
The victim’s father, Turinawe Kam, reported the case at Buyanja Police Station. Police visited and documented the crime scene, and the body was examined.
The two suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
“Inquiries are ongoing,” said ASP Maate Elly, PRO Kigezi.
