Kabale District Local Government, in partnership with M-Cash Uganda Limited, has launched a practical training program for farmers and selected district technical staff on the E-Voucher Management System under the Uganda Climate Smart Agriculture Transformation Project.
The training, held on Friday at the district Rukiiko Hall, is aimed at equipping beneficiaries with practical skills on how to access project-supported agricultural inputs through the digital E-Voucher platform.
The E-Voucher Management System is a digital tool designed to enable eligible farmers to directly access agricultural inputs in a transparent, efficient, and accountable manner. The system also strengthens fiduciary controls, improves traceability of inputs, and supports real-time monitoring of distribution in line with the project’s development objectives.
Participants in the training include district production staff, community development officers, and officials from the natural resources and environment departments. Farmer group representatives are also participating, including two members from each of the 57 profiled coffee farmer groups and two members from each of the seven profiled fish farmer groups across the district.
The training was officially opened by Principal Assistant Secretary Gordon Manzi, who highlighted the importance of adopting digital systems in improving service delivery, promoting transparency, and enhancing the management of government-supported agricultural programs. He urged participants to actively engage in the training sessions so they can effectively support farmers to benefit from the project interventions.
The capacity-building initiative is expected to improve farmers’ access to climate-smart agricultural inputs, boost productivity, and strengthen accountability in project implementation across Kabale District.
