As the 2025 national examinations draw closer, education stakeholders in Kasese District have been urged to focus on building students’ discipline, determination, and hope rather than just academic performance.
This call was made by Rt. Rev. Nanson Baluku, the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, during a dedication service for 195 senior four candidates at Standard High School Nyamwamba in Kasese Municipality on Thursday. Of the dedicated students, 137 will sit for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams, while 58 are preparing for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
According to UNEB, the examinations will commence on Friday, October 10th, with the briefing of UCE candidates.
Bishop Baluku emphasized that academic success requires a collective effort from teachers, parents, and guardians who must offer moral and spiritual support to candidates.
He urged them to encourage students through “words of hope and prayer,” noting that emotional stability and discipline play a crucial role in academic excellence.
He further advised candidates to cultivate respect, confidence, accuracy, and love for one another, saying these virtues are essential not only for exam success but also for their future careers and community life.
The Bishop also appealed to parents and guardians to clear school dues promptly to prevent disruptions during exams.
“When students worry about unpaid fees, their concentration is compromised,” he warned, calling for joint planning between parents and learners for the next stages of education.
During the service, Bishop Baluku also confirmed 17 students into the Anglican faith, urging them to uphold honesty, faith, and community service.
