Four children have been left stranded after failing to re-enter the temporary camp at Kasese Municipal Council headquarters, following the Kasese District Security Committee’s decision to dissolve the facility.

The minors, identified as Elvin Mbambu (7), Wiliam Bwambale (12), Linet Muhindo (9), and Sajoni Turemwa (16), told our reporter that they had left the camp with permission as usual, only to find it closed upon return.

Since then, the juveniles say they have been forced to survive on food from dustbins and sleep on the streets of Kasese Municipality. They appealed to authorities to allow them rejoin their families who were still in the camp.
