RUBANDA – The Minister of Finance (General Duties), Henry Musasizi, has revealed the government’s plan to extend electricity to Kibuzigye Seed School in Kibuzigye Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council in Rubanda East County, Rubanda District this financial year.
In August of the preceding year, Minister Musasizi launched the construction of Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School, marking the third such establishment in Rubanda District within a span of four years. The project, with a total budget of Shs. 2.42 billion, was awarded to Geses Uganda Ltd and encompassed the construction of Two Classroom blocks, an ICT Block, a science block, two self-contained Twin Staff buildings, two water tanks, and Two VIP Latrines.
Speaking during the wedding ceremony of Musinguzi Ivan and Kyogabirwe Sylvia at Kibuzigye Catholic Church, a Sub Parish under Kakore Parish today, Minister Musasizi shared the journey of Kibuzigye Seed School, revealing how the community had implored him to secure the school’s government support back in 2010 when he was contesting his initial term in parliament.
“On my first visit to Kibizigye, the community had lost hope in the school. It lacked a UNEB Center number, but we managed to secure funds, roofs, and constructed the school. When I assumed the position at the Ministry of Finance, I advocated for the school’s upgrade. This is a dream come true for me. We shall not only build the necessary infrastructure but also create a playground for students to engage in physical education and ensure the provision of sufficient teaching staff and equipment,” Minister Musasizi said.
Minister Musasizi said that during his recent inspection of the school during the festive season,he noticed the need for electricity to facilitate seamless learning. He expressed concerns that relying solely on solar panels and generator might not be sufficient for the school’s proper functioning.
He disclosed that he has already engaged Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, securing an agreement to implement the electricity extension to the school within the current fiscal year.

Kibuzigye is the third seed secondary school constructed in Rubanda, following Nyamweru, completed and commissioned in 2022, and Ruhiija Seed Secondary School, currently under construction. The government’s overarching plan is to establish at least one secondary school in each sub-county.
Accompanied by Bubaare Town Council Councilor, Obed Mutatiina Kitabutuka, Minister Musasizi reassured residents of the ongoing plan to gravel the Kibuzigye road, ensuring the safety of movement and fostering continued trade in the area.

Minister Musasizi, also imparted advice to the newlyweds, emphasizing the importance of love and trust in building a successful marriage and a strong family.
“There is a synergy between religion and government. In the context of the NRM, a strong family is one where both partners work together to generate household income, not merely working for sustenance. I urge you to work diligently and set an example for others in fostering a robust family with a stable income,” Minister Musasizi emphasized.
Minister Musasizi also highlighted various government initiatives, such as PDM and Emwooga, aimed at combating poverty, urging the couples and other Christians to embrace these programs.
The wedding mass was presided over by Rev Fr Kenneth Birungi, who encouraged couples to embrace forgiveness, trust in God, and focus on development to build resilient families.
