
Security forces in Kigezi Region have confirmed the safe delivery of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination materials ahead of the nationwide examinations scheduled to begin tomorrow.
According to a statement issued by the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, the examination papers were received at the various district police headquarters under tight military and police escort to ensure maximum security.
In Kabale District, the exams arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m. and were officially received by area supervisor Ahimbisibwe Amos, the head teacher of Bubare Secondary School, alongside chief scout Kabona Sserunjogi.
Following receipt, examination materials for the first week were immediately dispatched to designated UNEB distribution centres in Katuna, Rubaya, Kacwekano, Buhara, and Maziba, again under armed protection.
Maate confirmed that the process was completed without incident, assuring the public that security remains on high alert to ensure the integrity and smooth conduct of the examinations.
“So far, so good,” he said.
Police reiterated its commitment to working closely with UNEB to safeguard all examination materials throughout the examination period.
