KISORO – The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) is set to undertake a street cleaning initiative in Kisoro municipality as part of the activities marking the 43rd anniversary celebrations for Tarehe Sita on Monday.
Numerous streets in Kisoro’s central business district have been grappling with substantial heaps of improperly disposed garbage, a situation authorities attribute to rampant street vending along major roads. In addition to the streets, UPDF officials will also be involved in cleaning Kisoro Hospital.
Hajji Badru Ssebyala, the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner, explains that the decision to clean the town’s streets is a part of the activities planned to commemorate the army week. He emphasizes the UPDF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the common security of Ugandans, highlighting the support and positive relationship from the citizens.
