On Friday night, ASP Cheptegei won the gold medal in the 10,000-meter race at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, finishing with a time of 26:43.14.
In her congratulatory message, Janet Museveni praised Cheptegei’s achievement, calling it truly incredible and expressing the pride of Uganda.
“An Olympic Champion! Cheptegei! Cheptegei! Cheptegei! This is such a special moment for you! Adding another gold medal to your collection is truly incredible! Uganda is beaming with pride for you. Congratulations,” Janet Museveni stated on X (formerly Twitter).
The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, also congratulated Cheptegei on conquering the world once again.
