President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his capacity as National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman, has officially launched the party’s manifesto, outlining key priorities that will guide his next presidential term.
Speaking during the launch on Monday, Museveni unveiled a seven-point program designed to consolidate past gains and fast-track national development. The areas of focus include:
- Peace and Security – Museveni reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding Uganda’s stability while intensifying efforts against crime.
- Infrastructure Development – The President pledged continued investment in roads, electricity, railways, airports, schools, and hospitals to boost connectivity and service delivery.
- Wealth Creation – He encouraged households to transition from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture as a pathway to improved livelihoods.
- Job Creation – Agriculture and industrialization were highlighted as the primary drivers for employment, especially among the youth.
- Quality Service Delivery – Key sectors such as health, education, and security will receive renewed attention to ensure effective public services.
- Market Access – Museveni emphasized the importance of regional and continental integration to support Uganda’s expanding production capacity.
- Unity and Political Stability – Calling for an end to tribal divisions, he urged Ugandans to embrace national cohesion as the foundation for continued progress.
The President expressed confidence that the manifesto would accelerate Uganda’s journey toward socio-economic transformation, rallying citizens to support its implementation.
