Dr. Kamara, who has represented Kabale Municipality since 2021, will face stiff competition from NRM flag bearer Andrew Aja Baryayanga, Independent candidates Alex Edgar Muhwezi, Dan Musinguzi Nabaasa, Bakashaba William, Brian Zatwoshaho and FDC’s Jessy Aine in the forthcoming elections.

In May 2025, Dr. Kamara expressed confidence that he will defeat his opponents in the 2026 general elections.

Dr. Kamara said he welcomes all those intending to challenge him, but believes his track record will secure him another term.

“I welcome all those planning to contest against me,” he said. “But because of my achievements, I am confident I will defeat them.”

Critics have accused Dr. Kamara of focusing exclusively on health-related projects during his term, neglecting other sectors. However, he defended his approach, stating that health remains a critical priority.

“As a doctor and MP, my role is to save lives,” Dr. Kamara said. “I have never resurrected a dead person, but I will do my best to save lives. In my next term, God willing, I plan to expand my medical programs, including establishing a clinic to offer free medical consultations.”

Dr. Kamara emphasized that he places no monetary value on saving lives. He noted that his donations, including an ambulance and four medical scans, have significantly improved healthcare in Kabale Municipality and surrounding areas.

He urged voters to evaluate his contributions and consider re-electing him based on his service record.
