A police officer captured on video assaulting a female fuel station attendant has been arrested, dismissed, and remanded to prison following swift disciplinary action by the Uganda Police Force.
The incident, which occurred on 6th October 2025, sparked public outrage after a video showing Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nsiima Clive physically attacking the attendant at a Shell fuel station went viral on social media.
In response, police authorities immediately apprehended ASP Nsiima and placed him in custody. He was arraigned before the Police Disciplinary Court on 7th and 10th October 2025, where he was charged with behaving in a scandalous and unprofessional manner. The court recommended his dismissal from the force.
On Monday, ASP Nsiima was further produced before the criminal court at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), where he faced charges of assault and threatening violence. He has since been remanded to prison pending further court proceedings.
In an official statement, the Uganda Police Force strongly condemned the officer’s conduct, reiterating its commitment to enforcing professionalism and accountability within its ranks.
“Such behaviour does not reflect the values of the Uganda Police Force. We shall continue to take firm action against any officer who tarnishes the image of the institution,” the statement read.
The victim’s condition has not yet been disclosed, but investigations are ongoing.
