Windhoek, (Namibia): Uganda’s Vice President, Her Excellency Jessica Alupo, arrived in Windhoek on Thursday afternoon to represent President Yoweri Museveni at Namibia’s 35th Independence Anniversary and the inauguration of the country’s 5th President.
Vice President Alupo will join other world leaders at Namibia’s Independence National Stadium for the swearing-in ceremony of Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the nation’s first female President-elect, who will officially assume office on March 21, 2025.
Upon her arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Vice President Alupo was received by Namibia’s Deputy Minister for Gender, Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Bernadette Maria Jagger. Also present were Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador Paul Amoru, Uganda’s Honorary Consul to Namibia, Prince Joseph Ndaula, and Uganda’s Military Attaché to South Africa, Colonel David Richard Lumumba, along with other officials from Uganda’s High Commission in South Africa and the Namibian Consulate in Windhoek.
