Kabale District NRM Youth League Vice Chairperson, Trust Twesigomwe, has formally picked nomination forms to contest as the NRM flag bearer for National Youth Council (NYC) Secretary for Finance.
The Secretary for Finance slot is one of nine positions on the NYC Executive. Eligibility for the race is limited to leaders who have previously served as District Youth Chairperson, Secretary for Finance, or Secretary for Female Affairs.
Each district contributes three eligible voters, creating an electoral college of approximately 438 delegates from all 146 districts.
Twesigomwe has been an active youth leader since 2020, serving as Rubaya Subcounty Youth Chairperson and Ndorwa West Medical Students Association Chairperson.
He was re-elected Rubaya Subcounty Youth Chairperson this year before securing victory as Kabale District NRM Youth League Vice Chairperson and Secretary for Finance at the District Youth Council.
He is expected to be nominated on Monday, September 29, 2025, ahead of the election scheduled for October 3rd, 2025.
Twesigomwe picked the nomination papers from the NRM Electoral Commission Offices in Kampala, accompanied by a delegation of youth leaders including Rukiga District Youth Chairperson Bob Atwine, Kabale District Secretary for Female Youth Affairs Twinamasiko Jackline, Kalangala District Secretary for Female Youth Affairs Hellen Nagawa, and Kisoro District Secretary for Finance Benon Ninzeyimana.
Successful candidates in the NRM Youth League election will advance to compete in the National Youth Executive Council general election slated for October 3, 2025, according to the Electoral Commission roadmap.
