KISORO: Authorities in Kisoro Municipality have threatened to arrest people who litter and damp garbage along the Major roads in the town.
According to the Municipal town clerk Ayubu Kisubi Alikwan, despite the Municipality spending much money to clean the town, residents have disregarded proper waste disposal practices by littering with polythene bags and plastic bottles along major thoroughfares.
To address this issue, Ayubu announced stringent measures, including the threat of arrest for individuals caught littering. He particularly singled out businessmen who irresponsibly provide sacks of garbage to mentally challenged individuals, contributing to further littering on the streets.

Ayubu further disclosed plans to ramp up operations targeting individuals posing as street children after dropping out of school who not only pose a security threat to the town but also undermine efforts to maintain cleanliness. He emphasized the importance of apprehending such individuals and ensuring they face prosecution in court.
