According to a statement issued by Deo Atuhaire Omuhatizi, the Chairperson of Buhweju District, Hon. Mwijukye was attacked by a group of individuals involved in land grabbing in the Rwanyamabare-Nyakishana Sub County. The attackers pelted him with stones, causing injuries.
   Omuhatizi further mentioned that law enforcement intervened swiftly, evacuating Hon. Mwijukye from the scene.
Currently, he is under medical care in a hospital whose identity is yet to be disclosed.
Omuhatizi urged the constituents and the general public to maintain composure as the authorities pursue those responsible for the attack.
