A 25-year-old Woman has been killed by mob justice in kyevu village, Nyamiryango parish, Butanda Sub County in Kabale district.
The deceased is Fortunate Owomugisha a mukiga peasant, resident of kyevu village, Nyamiryango parish, Butanda Subcounty in Kabale district.
According to Milton Matekye (47), LC2 chairman Nyamiryango parish Butanda Subcounty in Kabale district, the deceased was killed by a mob yesterday at 12:00PM by multiple cuttings on the Head.
Asp Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson has confirmed the act of mob and says that information was received from CPL Muhereza OC Butanda Police Station that there was a person killed by Mob justice in kyevu village, Nyamiryango parish, Butanda Subcounty in Kabale district.
Maate told our reporter that, homicide team of detectives from Kabale police station, led by Daip Mugabe Derrick, the Kigezi regional SOCO, went and visited the scene of crime, Photos were taken and sketch plan was drawn.
He adds, statements were also recorded and the motive of the killing is not yet established.
He further confided to our reporter that the body of the deceased was conveyed to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary pending postmortem on pf 48b as inquiries are ongoing.
