DRC: At least eight civilians lost their lives, and nine others suffered injuries on Monday in Kikuku, South Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, amidst clashes involving various factions including the coalition forces of the Kinshasa regime, comprising FARDC, FDLR, mercenaries, militias, the Burundi National Defense Forces, and the SADC Forces.

Among those who tragically lost their lives were Sinamenye Mudashungura (65), Kimeri Semagori (43), Nsanzumukiza Sabato (34), Mahirwe Jeanne (6), Mukesha Mucuzi (31), Habyarimana Bitama (47), Hebu Serumondo (1), and Mvuyekure Birihanze (38). The injured included Gisore Juvenal (40), Tumaini Nzirengera (22), Abdou Kavumbura (37), Ndayisaba Sinaribonye (36), Pendo Dejene (12), Stefano Ntimbati (1 month), Uwiringiye Sada (3), Cyizanye Nikuze (30), and Injiri Muhawimana (25).

Additionally, Kanyuka mentioned the destruction of four houses in Kikuku as a result of the conflict. He vehemently condemned these acts of violence, labeling them as inhumane and barbaric. Furthermore, he denounced the silence of the international community in the face of such atrocities, deeming it unacceptable.

Emphasizing the importance of safeguarding human lives and ensuring the safety of innocent civilians, Kanyuka stressed that these violent acts must not go unpunished, as they constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.
