KASESE: The Kasese District Chairperson, Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi, has urged victims of the recent mudslides and floods, currently encamped at Nyambuku SDA and Buhunga Primary Schools in Ibanda – Kyanya Town Council, to seek refuge with relatives to avoid contracting diseases and falling into bad habits associated with camp life.

Muhindi made this appeal on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the 234 households living in the two camps. He delivered relief items, including cassava flour, maize flour, and beans, to the victims.

Muhindi says that when large numbers of people stay together, challenges such as disease outbreaks and prostitution often arise. He therefore advised the camp residents to observe health and sanitation measures, ensure security, and provide proper nutrition, especially for children and pregnant women.
