RUKUNGIRI: Whereas the President of the National Unity Platform Party, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, held his mobilization rally in Rukungiri on Wednesday, over 250 FDC members defected to the ruling National Resistance Movement Party.
While receiving new members into the NRM Party at Masya Primary School playground and Nyakagyeme Sub County headquarters in Rujumbura Constituency, the Minister of Security, Rtd Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, encouraged others to join the NRM. He emphasized that the party’s doors remain open to those who seek development, stability, and unity.
Minister Muhwezi, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Rujumbura Constituency, stated that unlike other political parties, the NRM works with and for the people rather than exploiting them for personal gain. He urged new members to become agents of change and to recruit more supporters into the party.
