The NEC advised that the party should initiate the process of dissolving itself in line with Article 36 of its constitution. This decision comes amidst growing internal tensions and a perceived need for a new political direction.

The NEC outlined a clear path for the party’s dissolution, stressing that the move is essential to sever ties with what it describes as “Najjanankumbi impostors.”

The proposal includes transferring the party’s assets and liabilities as part of the dissolution process, with the final decision requiring approval from a two-thirds majority of the National Delegates Conference or a Special Conference.

Key points outlined in the NEC’s recommendation include:

Dissolution Process: The FDC must dissolve by a two-thirds majority vote of the National Delegates Conference, as per Article 36 of the party’s constitution.

This proposal is expected to be a major point of discussion at the upcoming Delegates Conference, where members will vote on whether to adopt the NEC’s recommendations.
