RUKUNGIRI: Rukungiri District Local Government has disbursed a total of 4.931 billion Ugandan shillings, equivalent to 65.7 percent of the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds, to beneficiaries, according to Keith Ainebyoona, the District Commercial Officer.
Ainebyoona stated that the 4.931 billion shillings is part of the 7.5 billion shillings the district received under the Parish Development Model Program. He revealed that these funds have reached 4,931 beneficiaries across the district.
However, he noted that there is still 2.569 billion UGX remaining in the SACCO accounts, which has yet to be distributed.
Ainebyoona highlighted several challenges hindering the implementation process, including unreliable network systems affecting the processing of revolving funds, lack of cooperation from some SACCO leaders, and insufficient resources for parish chiefs.
