KISORO: The Kisoro Municipal Town Clerk, Ayub Kisubi Alikwan, has interdicted Kenneth Mbabazi, the Senior Physical Planner, over allegations of alcoholism and obstruction of municipal work.
In a letter dated October 4, 2024, Kisubi highlighted an incident on September 18, 2024, in which Mbabazi obstructed a technical team working on Senyabugunzu Road at the junction with Mosque Road.
According to the interdiction letter, Mbabazi reportedly stood in front of the machinery and verbally abused the team, despite his role in facilitating their work.
Kisubi says that Mbabazi has been accused of failing to comply with legal requirements, resulting in delays in service delivery.
He has allegedly failed to report to work on time, neglected his office duties, and engaged in personal development activities without proper authorization.
Mbabazi has also been involved in unauthorized communications beyond the municipality’s jurisdiction, appeared at work intoxicated, and failed to submit the spatial framework for the municipal development strategy.
As part of the interdiction, Mbabazi has been barred from accessing municipal offices without prior permission, will receive only half of his monthly salary, and is prohibited from leaving the county without authorization from the town clerk’s office.
Attempts to reach Mbabazi for comment were unsuccessful as his phone remained switched off.
