The report also notes positive outcomes from the sub-county policing model, which has brought policing services closer to communities. While not yet fully implemented nationwide, authorities say efforts are underway to expand coverage, aiming for improved service delivery and public safety.

The Uganda Police Force has also embraced modern tools and technologies, including CCTV systems, canine units, forensic services, and IT-based solutions, enhancing crime detection and response.

“Through intelligence-led operations, targeted interventions, and consistent investigations, the Police have strengthened national security. We commend commanders and the Criminal Investigations Directorate for ensuring suspects are processed in accordance with the law,” IGP Byakagaba said.
