KANUNGU: A 40-year-old Pygmy man has been murdered in Kanyantorgo Sub-County, Kanungu District.
The deceased, identified as David Kacucu, was a resident of Kegoma Cell, Kihembe Parish, Kanyantorgo Sub-County. His body was discovered along Karukara Road on Monday morning.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, the deceased was found lying lifeless on Karukara Road at around 08:20 AM. Maate confirmed that Kanungu Central Police Station was promptly informed about the incident.
Maate said that the scene was visited and documented by police. Relatives identified the body as that of David Kacucu, who was a member of the Pygmy community (Omutwa). The body was then taken to Kihiihi Health Center mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Maate also stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the murder.
