GOMA: The M23 Rebels have accused the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) government of continuously massacring civilians and launching attacks on their positions on the eve of direct dialogue.
In a statement, M23 spokesperson Lawrence Kanyuka claimed that for the past four days, coalition forces of the Kinshasa regime have been indiscriminately bombing densely populated areas, killing civilians using Sukhoi-25 fighter jets and CH-4B drones.
Kanyuka described the escalation as a deliberate attempt to distract from the peace process and a clear demonstration of the Kinshasa regime’s intention to derail the long-awaited dialogue.
He also confirmed receiving correspondence from the Angolan government inviting them to direct talks and requested that all future communications be addressed to the Congo River Alliance (AFC:M23).
