KASESE: A 35 year-old- man identified as Hussein Kisohumu Kadogo has allegedly cut off the hands of his wife under yet-to-be-determined circumstances in Kasese District.
Kadogo is accused of attacking his wife, Esther Mbambu, also known as Nya-Azida. Both the suspect and the victim are residents of Road-Barrier Cell in Kasese Municipality.
According to Jafali Kigutuha, the Local Council One chairman for the neighboring Basecamp Lower Cell, and Salveri Sunday, the Bulembia Division male councilor representing Nyakabingo Three Ward, the suspect was arrested near Kiwa Heritage along the Kasese-Kilembe road.
They revealed to our reporter that the victim had previously reported cases of mistreatment, as Kadogo suspected her of infidelity.

The victim is currently receiving medical attention at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. Rev. Sr. Susan Kabugho, the hospital’s Senior Administrator, confirmed that Nya-Azida was admitted in critical condition and has remained in a coma since 11 p.m. on Thursday following the brutal machete attack, believed to be linked to domestic violence.
