Ayo made the remarks on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony of Hon. Ekirapa John, the newly elected LC3 Chairperson of Mukujju Sub-county in Tororo North County.

Speaking at the event, Ayo emphasized the importance of putting the interests of local communities first, urging leaders to focus on improving infrastructure and enhancing education standards in schools.

“Make sure you put the interests of your community members first, improve infrastructure, and enhance the performance of learners in schools,” she said.

In his remarks, Hon. Ekirapa thanked God and the people of Mukujju for entrusting him with leadership, pledging to improve service delivery across the sub-county.

“I thank the people for believing in me. I am committed to ensuring better service delivery for our communities,” he said.

Meanwhile, the NRM Chairperson for Tororo Political District, Godfrey Othieno, urged the newly elected leaders to implement the NRM manifesto and take a firm stand against corruption.

Othieno noted that with Tororo County overwhelmingly voting for the NRM, leaders should focus on delivering services and lobbying for improved support from the central government.

“Tororo voted overwhelmingly for the NRM. It is now time for leaders to work for the people, demand better services from the central government, and avoid corruption,” Othieno said.
