KISORO: Police in Kisoro District are hunting for 29-year-old Jonan Ninsiima in connection with the alleged murder of 45-year-old Aggrey Kikooko in Nyanamo Town Council.
According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday at around 6:00 PM in Nyamiyaga Village, Nyamiyaga Ward, Nyanamo Town Council. Kikooko had reportedly gone to Nyanamo Trading Centre for a social evening but never returned home.
His lifeless body was discovered on Friday morning. The body was found shirtless, with the face covered in what appeared to be blood stains. Police say evidence from the secondary scene indicated that the body was dragged from the road into a nearby Irish potato garden.
At the scene, investigators recovered several items believed to be of evidential value, including a navy-blue T-shirt, a pair of sandals, and a lemon green baby T-shirt. Local residents helped identify some of the recovered items.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed that the scene was visited, processed, and documented by the District Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) along with a team of detectives. Statements were recorded from key witnesses, and the body was transported to Kisoro Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Maate has appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible. He urged community members to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure justice is served.
