MBARARA: The Catholic community in the Mbarara Archdiocese is mourning the passing of Rev. Fr. Agapitas Mubangizi, who died on Monday.
Rev. Fr. Mubangizi, a native of Kitumba Sub-county in Ndorwa West County, Kabale District, passed away at Rugarama Hospital in Kabale Municipality, where he had been admitted.
According to Rev. Fr. Mukasa Balikudembe, the Chancellor of Mbarara Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Mubangizi will be laid to rest on Tuesday at the Nyamitanga Cathedral grounds in Mbarara.
The funeral Mass is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
Fr. Mubangizi dedicated most of his priestly service to the Mbarara Diocese, serving in several parishes, including Nyakishojwa Catholic Parish in Mitooma District.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
