Minister of State for General Duties, Henry Musasizi, accompanied by a technical team, appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on the Budget on Tuesday to present the Annual Budget Estimates for the Financial Year 2025/26.
The estimates were prepared under the theme: “Full Monetization of the Ugandan Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expanding and Broadening Services, Digital Transformation, and Market Access.”
Minister Musasizi announced that the total proposed budget for FY2025/26 stands at Shillings 71.96 trillion (71,956,621,530,685/=).
He noted that this represents a slight reduction of Shillings 176 billion compared to the approved budget for FY2024/25, which was Shillings 72.136 trillion.
“Prioritization of allocations has been guided by the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV), which outlines the first phase of priority areas aimed at increasing the size of the economy tenfold. These priority areas include the ATMS (Agriculture, Tourism, Minerals, and Services) and key enablers,” said Minister Musasizi.
