Police in Kanungu District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder of Kakiiza Rogers, a 45-year-old resident of Nyakarambi Cell, Nyakatooma Parish, Kihanda Sub-county.
According to authorities, Kakiiza’s body was discovered on Saturday morning by Rosette Habasa, who was on her way to work when she found the body dumped in Rwenkywera Stream.
Habasa immediately alerted the GISO of Kihanda Sub-county, Nyabugyingo Moses Barigye, who in turn informed officers at the Kihanda Police Post. Police promptly responded to the scene.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed that the body was found lying in the stream.
He stated that the scene was visited, processed, and documented.
Maate said that relevant statements were recorded, and a postmortem examination was conducted.
