Authorities at Kisoro Hospital in Kisoro District are currently holding the body of an unidentified male adult, estimated to be between 25 and 28 years old, who was found dead on Saturday with a deep stab wound to the head.
The body was discovered around 7:00 a.m. by town cleaners at Kisoro Hill Cell, Central Ward, Central Division in Kisoro Municipality. The cleaners immediately notified the area chairman, Munezero Sam, who then alerted police for further investigation.
Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway. Police visited and documented the crime scene, recorded witness statements, and transported the body to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Maate has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased. Anyone missing a male relative matching the description is urged to visit the hospital mortuary to help with identification and ensure the body receives a proper burial.
